ComDot™

ComDot

Beepcard has developed ComDot™ card and system, the world’s first reader-free card and solution for secure authentication in previously “card-not-present” environments.
By communicating its digital cryptogram via sound waves, ComDotTM technology enables a credit card to perform wireless communication with a PC, telephone or mobile phone without using any specialized card reader.
The ComDot solution is easy and convenient: The user simply holds the card in front of his PC’s microphone or his telephone and squeezes the ComDotTM logo -- a flat button on the card.
The card transmits an encrypted, one-time-code identifying the user to the destination server.
The ComDotTM system enjoys a broad range of intellectual property protection including patents (issued and pending) and advanced proprietary software and firmware designs.
ComDotTM is unique in providing high-end security combined with ease of use and the perfect user experience.
The first application of the technology, the ComDotTM card system, is currently the only self powered card that meets the ISO 7810 credit card standard.
This reader-free card transmits a unique one-time security code through sound to any telephone or microphone equipped device (see below). With the ability to enable the deployment of smart cards without the need for readers the ComDotTM can make card-not-present transactions become card-present. In times when internet purchases and transactions reach every area of life this is a major step forward for consumers, issuers and merchants as well as healthcare organizations, call-centres and IT security.
