Beepcard has developed ComDot™, an electronic card and software system that enables secure, token-based access to online services.
ComDot provides the infrastructure to enforce trust and security in web based environments, locally installed client applications and electronic consumer devices. ComDot cards use an acoustic encrypted signal to securely communicate with PCs, mobile or fixed line phones, and other audio capable devices.
Distinguished from any other physical security token ComDot is the first self-powered card to pass ISO 7810 and ISO 7816 card testing.

Main Features
Secure Wireless Authentication: The ComDot card transmits a one-time encrypted authentication message, using sound wave as its communication medium. Pressing the ComDot button located on the card will transmit a unique 3-DES encrypted authentication message, to be received by any sound-equipped device (e.g. PC, land or cellular phone, PDAs etc.).
Reader Free: Unlike conventional smart cards, the ComDot card does not require installation of dedicated hardware, such as a smart-card reader. ComDot technology uses the PC/Phone microphone as its reader. ComDot cards include an internal battery, providing autonomous operation and omitting the need for external power.
Credit Card Size: ComDot cards are credit card shaped and sized, thus being the world’s thinnest consumer electronic device. Although rich with embedded electronics, ComDot cards are thin and flexible as any ISO certified plastic card found in your wallet.
